Soldier's DeathA Poem by KevinA poem about soldier's funeralsWhen taps sounds every night at ten The sorrow flows in again Remembering fallen brothers The ultimate sacrifice They gave it all Each an unsung hero A flag draped over a casket A twenty one gun salute Sends them to their resting place A grief stricken widow Receives the flag Officers offer condolences And fellow soldiers cry This is a time honored tradition But now groups can protest Hold signs that state Thank god for a soldier’s death What is it that these people don’t get They sacrifice for you So that you can sleep safe at night And live your day to day life © 2010 KevinReviews
