Her secretA Poem by Abigail LatorenoShe is never silent for she fears the voices may come again; Talks the loudest to drown away the pain. Laughs the merriest for her sobs are safely tucked in her head. And her tears safely seep in the pillows of her bed. She is strong for she has no time to be weak Gives the sweetest smiles for tears may come rolling down a cheek. She is happy and confident they say, without a flaw. Kept her demons at bay, put a chain around their claw. But even the strongest women can face defeat. Not always do the demons cower at her feet. Sometimes the darkness does win and their glory unfurl. For every strong independent woman is a scared broken little girl.
