Molasses

Molasses

A Poem by Rin
"

I have been VERY impacient lately. It seems as if school has been really long and I just can't wait for summer. It's so close! Sorry I haven't been writing a lot, I've been focusing more on my artwork and tons of studying for exams and stuff.

"

Another needle in my back
Hurry up time!
So much to do
Pause of eternity
Time unchanging
Finlay the second passes.
Another small black needle
Slowly inching its way into my back
Time like Molasses
Drop of blood frozen in ice
The ice of time!
It seems so far away
The time that just would not stay
The quick needles would prick
But, they would be unnoticed
Even the droplets of blood
Too fast for details.
Now all is still
Every detail noticed
All the drops of red liquid seen
The needles now felt.
The new life coming so soon
Yet it comes slowly
How can something so soon be so long?
Impatience now causing the needles to quiver
All of my muscles tense
Let me move!
Soon this break of time will be gone
It shall be mobile once again
Soon it shall be alive
The needles will be unnoticed once more
The chance to move on will be in sight.

I like this. I like how you describe time moving so slowly. I know what that feels like! Great poem! Well expressed!
