Odyssey of Life

Odyssey of Life

A Poem by Herl Rodrin
"

A poem I've written and been published on our university's student publication. In every ending there's always a new beginning.

"

While lying in bed

I opened my eyes

Looked at the window

And to my paralyzing surprise

The rain is still rushing

Without the plan to cease

Just like my yesterday,

Soaking my ticker with grieves.

I can feel the cool breeze

Coming from the outside

Torturing my whole body

Weakening my soul & mind

My mortal part is hurting,

And my psyche is wondering

How come in this world

My pain is not yet halting.

But the day is not yet over..

For the night still has to come.

A sensation of excitement reigns

Clueless of why am I feeling this scheme

It seems like something’s waiting

Eager to find out what it was

I get up & dressed up

Open the door & stepped up.

I was in a hurry

Walking with no idea where to go

Looking back at the past

Searching for the point of beginning

Then in this crazy road

I bumped into a man

I apologized & walked fast

Embarrassed by the way I act.

What a pleasant surprise

As I said to myself

From the time I met him

My day turns to sunshiny

The rain fades away

And bid goodbye forever

For the golden man is here

And embrace me with his rays.
