Well. People often look back, and relive the happy moments. And some regret not catching some of those beautiful butterflies, holding a few moments of happiness, the feeling of "a job well done " fulfillment. Looking at life... Made out of those few moments, that fly away, like it was yesterday, but then again...It was years back. How quickly they seem to pass, but bearing the good and bad through them years, is challenging, and takes effort..And now imma quit writing an essay, and say: Well done.

You've only gone through 15 years while I've gone through 59 of 'em, yet your review has you writing things that sound as if someone MY age wrote them, and I mean that in a GOOD way. Glad to see you are still writing, will review your latest if you send me a read request? Thank you, sir! take care...dan

I'm not overdoing it, when I say that. life had it's tricks. & you either wise up in time...or it's checkmate. ;)
Good song and hard learn logic.
"man, am I ever old…

I understand the above words. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

"Age is a rigid number. a flexible state of mind" and "i reject the tangible. embrace the malleable." really are thought-provoking. Nothing in life is truly expressed by a general law-there are always exceptions-yet society and cultures attempt to label it. I relate to not wanting to accept these labels and being more of a free thinker. Good job!

Hey, Dan, act your age, not your shoe size... :p
You've nailed it. Age is a number that we don't get to play with, but its the experiences that matter anyway. And we really can choose our own behavior.

This human call to time
asking it to give us a break
Somehow its like after a couple of punches
we stop and say hey listen
I am only as old as i want to be
Fighting this vicious winding time wheel that turns
neglecting any emotional soul it takes onto our soul
But we rise above it all
Just another battler to be won
maybe this one is with oneself

I've always been resistant, though, to "act my age...." because I don't actually feel like I'm 59. I'm goofy and lighthearted and silly...NOT 59! Thank you for your review; please send me some RRs? I think it could be both Dan. Like light being waves and particles. Time is a number incrementing so slowly when we study it and observe it (as we are wont to do when things are crap) but when we take eye (and our awareness off it, like we do when things are fun) it increments way faster. The bastad, lol.
It's also a state of mind since and we even have a bunch of sayings that reflect that - 'as young as you feel', 'as young as the gal/guy that you feel', etc., etc
I love the dismissal in this of being made to conform to a certain ideal attached to age.
Nice, engaging musings my friend.
