Dreams of Christmas....drips and drabs...little packages dropped on doorsteps...tinseled tears encircling holly....stars on tops of trees so blindly...open eyes to bludgeoned light
Yes is
bought in parcels, parcels fraught in lot’s
demand
An abstract view on Christmas and the festive season. An interesting use of words in this poem. Perhaps to suit the abstract nature of it.
The moral here is to understand that Christmas is more than just presents, parcels and mindless spending. It is the in the little moments of the festive season that the longest lasting memories are created. Something one tends to realise more the older one gets.
A very different take on the Festive season, than one usually reads. Very original in idea and content. A nice write. Take care.

I read it later when I felt better and thought about deleting it but decided to leave it up for its abstract nature and deeply buried message. Thank you for your complimentary review.
As long as you are digging in my archives I DID write a poem bemoaning the commercialization of the Christmas season, it's called "A Plea from Christmas Past." I think you will like that one. Thanks again! take care...dan
My favorite part of any holiday is the food and laughter of being together. I love filling the air with the smell of sharing and love :) I love how you wrote this and the song is epic. Your style is remarkable, Dan :)
I wish for you a life of peace, love, and laughter, my friend

Christmas spirit is sometimes lost with all the busy gift buying. Even as a kid my fondest memories are just being with my family, I don't even remember the gifts. I enjoyed reading this piece Dan and I hope you are yours had a lovely Christmas.

Dan, a lovely thought with great music, but you always have great music.
I read the description after reading the poem with it's driving rhythm. It almost seems like it should fit as part of the poem.
It's nice to see others who fall into the spirit of Christmas, not being found in the gifts given.
Wishing you and Dee well in spirit and health. Jan

A very nice story in the poetry. Christmas should be good days. Time to celebrate family and love.
"And wishing of Christmas, these dreams of Christmas ,
if it’s the dream
I Say it’s so."
Thank you Dan for sharing the excellent poetry.
