I spend a lot of time alone as I no longer work outside the home but I do understand that chatter, chatter, chatter! When I am around a lot of people it can seem so magnified to me because of that alone time. Loved this piece and love the song! Good job!

I went to your page to check out your writing, returning the favor and such. But there's a problem. Due to my disabilities (Bipolar and Anxiety Disorders, among others) I can't focus or concentrate on long writes. I get frustrated and anxious, and angry at myself; not conducive to focus or concentration. I'm sorry that I won't be able to absorb your writing enough to do an acceptable review. Thank you for reading my piece. take care...dan

You'll catch on quickly, and you DID send the RR just fine, I received it and responded with a good review. You'll like it here on WC, a nice "family" will be formed with you and your most frequently read and reviewed friends. Enjoy! take care...dan

I have definitely experienced my share of the white noise. There are times where people talk mindlessly, so much is going on and all you want to do is have silence soothe you and have things be calm for a second. Overall your piece was great! Nice work.

This idea sprang from visiting my wife in the hospital for a month. All the machines, docs and nurses voices, instructions, rules to follow...I had to leave quickly several times due to my anxiety disorder. I love people, but I also love being alone with a book or mindless TV shows...this allows my mind to spread its wings. Thanks again for the read/review. take care...dan
Loved this piece!! Its so deep, kind of dark and edgy I think...I also loved the flow to it. :) You have a very interesting mind btw....I like that!

Sitting alone is a quality time that i enjoy, cause silence makes me think of every important thing that i am distracted from, especially, my thoughts which are caged when i am in a noisy place.
Thank you for your lovely write.

It does make you wonder why people are so afraid of the quiet. Are they afraid to think, less they realize that not ever choice made was perfect? So they fill the air with senseless sounds and nothing of importance. Why do they never worry about the infringement of others' rights to silence?
I truly like people, but this inane chatter makes me a bit crazy and after a bit, I hibernate in my room with a good book and silence. Doors close and nobody comes in. I call it decompression, everyone else calls it anti-social tendencies, but it's not. I can have intelligent two-way conversations for hours and days and I'm fine, but a night of "socializing" with the world as a whole, and I'm done for a bit.
How's Dee doing?

I actually got the idea for this piece when she was in the hospital and every time I went there I was tripping over white noise and chaos. When she was being discharged I was talked at by docs, nurses...technicians about aftercare, appointments...ENOUGH! We got home and all the noise we heard was our bird Tucker hysterically hollering, announcing that his Mummy had come home. Thanks again, so much, for you caring words and support as she was fighting health demons. I consider you a friend, Jan. You could shoot me a little update on Otto if you are so inclined. take care...dan

I'm glad Dee is doing well. I do know the white noise of hospitals, and they make me angry when they talk to me like I'm a small child or idiot! It's always a relief to come home!!!!
BTW- I really liked the structure of this. It's clean and minimalistic, but easy to follow your thoughts and hear the sounds.
it does get awfully tough when people just talk at us...no conversation, just an agenda of their own, that often has nothing to do with us, and doesn't interest us at all...

You hit the nail on the head, though. I got the idea about 3 weeks ago, my wife was hospitalized and docs, nurses and technicians were all talking about aftercare, future appointment, blah blah blah.... My head hurt. The feeling spilled out in a Word document. Thank you for your insightful review. take care...dan
Love this, although I do enjoy the busyness of chaos, the quiet of my mind begs for meaningless trouble.

i had to move away from the chatter and clatter of busy city streets, barely escaping with my sanity in tact...nowadays i find myself with lots of solitude and am only bothered, sometimes, by the voices in my head, which i never acknowledge - i think many of them have splattered near the porch light...many of us long for peace and quiet, my friend...enjoyed this piece very much...good to see you have not lost your touch...cheers, FT
