I got frustrated from my vice-grip block that has my brain all seized up.
So I got bored....whadda you want from me? Happy weekend.
I just wanted to put this out there without rr-ing anybody. I'm bored and feeling muddy...writer's block is as bad as any injury I've had over the years. It's been 10, 12 days (I don't know) since I posted something. OK? So today I get an idea.
I write just spontaneously trying it do an off-the-cuff, natural feeling rhythm, make is sound like it's set up for music to be added. And I actually wrote 8 lines...they were short lines, but 8! That's an achievement lately. So I go to save it and take the rough draft and see that in my next to last sentence I have included the lyric (words) that I chose from the line to a name, something to save it AS! So what two words to I pick: (Its in the last two lines) Skid Marks. It sounded so good when I wrote it...I opened the file 5 minutes later and immediately that maybe it would be prudent to change the NAME of the piece. I really didn't want to write or employ toilet humor. Yeah, 'cause that's like so last year, right? So if anyone finds this, since I'm not directly sending it to anyone it's just going to float like a hot air balloon, over the magic dome that protects Writer's Café members from disaster. (Wait....a DOME?) Just issuing a warning that I will be posting something in the next day or so, just with a different name than Skid Mark. OH, I know ONE! No....too overblown. have a great weekend, anybody! take care...dan
Amusingly, I was listening to Billie Holliday when 'Hello muddah...... started to overlay Billie. I thought, 'what the hell's happened to Deezer. Of course all was revealed as I scrolled down. I'd forgotten about this Allan Sherman one. It's going on streaming favorites list. Thanks.
We all operate creating different identities for different situations, you just forgot to take off a 'no writing' one, and slip into one that had the creative juices flowing.

Dan: You have made me smile...First I see you, the young you; or another teenager spinning his wheels, that stench from burnt rubber...oh but it was fun: then the other kind, just as stinky, but as a mother, not so much fun. I could visualize you writing a poem representing the changing of time, until, well I suppose one day, those skid marks are there and maybe they don't come out in the wash, but it doesn't matter. Anyway, My 10 Days in a Ditch is funny too. Glad your're out of the Mud! Thanks...Dale
I just read some diatribes about the top reviewer, who indeed seems like a weirdy who apparently has written diatribes as reviews (and gotten to top reviewer). Shows where you can get with a little venom, huh? Sooooo, I needed this. Thank you for putting a smile on my face and reassuring me that all is well in the world (no, I know it's not) but at least on writerscafe. The music accompaniment was genius. Smile back at you. Trust that your muse will return. She's probably A) gotten caught in traffic B) been mistaken for a mummy and carted off to the British Museum C) joined the Merchant Marine to fight Somalian pirates D) been quarantined for being mistaken as Typhoid Mary E) or is on a grand world tour -- in which case, she'll be away for varying amounts of time, depending on which of the above is true. Take heart, she indeed will return when you least expect her.

Hi Dan! As long as you are writing (poetry or prose about the frustrations of writer's block), my friend, we will be here to read it...and (not to smile at your frustration), but there is a humor in this piece that I like, a lot... it's like reading a review of something you haven't written, or have, but will change so that it doesn't become a 'Skid Mark'... now you know I will have that title in my head when I read your next poem :)... and what a great song to accompany such prose... hope that blockade ends soon, my friend... enjoy what's left to the weekend!
PS love this title too :)

He called me all sorts of things, I HAD to get involved for just a minute. Then block him. It actually invigorated me a bit! Thank you for your great comments...I don't think I'm going to be finishing the write today though, my 3-year old grandson will be arriving any minute so I'd better put my roller blades on. take care...dan

Ill breath un some helium and be so giddy I won't notice. That dome is seriously filled with a lot of hot air, from writers such as yours truly. Stress has a way.of killing creativity, as does talking with insurance companies and hospital billing..uhg.
Hang in there.it will pass, and the new title will be brilliant.

The above write is coherent, so no doubt you'll get there.
