I'm Trying

desperately wishing for those sounds to stop

I try to make my world believe

That tragedy is normalcy,

I’ve tried to make my inside voices

Sing in five-part harmony;

I’ve tried so hard to move the middle,

Placing it on top,

I’ve tried ignoring all of the noise,

I’ve tried to make it stop.

 

I place awnings over sandboxes to

Keep our children dry,

I try to keep their worlds safe as

They’re leaping toward the sky;

I try to spin my fears around

And harbor them within,

I’m trying to improve my mind,

I’m trying to begin.

Brilliant write Dan, those inner voices can be so hard to ignore or tune out but we have to try to stop the negativity!
Lets hope we do all get to the point that we can pave a better future for our kids, more love and less hate, more give and less take!

It's all about our illusion of control. As long as we feel we are doing something to improve life for ourselves and families, we feel in control.but sometimes something happens to shake thst feeling and we struggle to make it to midfle ground.well expressed thoughts Dan.
