I Remember

Thoughts flying around...I tried to bat them down but had to quit to watch Judge Judy.

A spark within my memory follows me

To the place I go to

Hear the shallow whispers in the wind.

 

I remember shadow voices calling me

As I passed through darkened

Woodlands on the way to learn my fate.

 

Please stop the sirens ringing after me,

Let me move on unencumbered

By the tragedies within.

 

I hope and pray that God is listening

To my prayers punctuated

By the dreams that I begin.

 

I remember…

Buried memories can spark at any moment, at any cue that will remind us of them. They follow us wherever we go, wherever we try to avoid them. But we cannot push them aside or away, they will amplify even stronger. All we can do is remember, and try to heal by letting them pass through us.

This poem is much better than any episode of Judge Judy, even on her very best Day! You do not even need the music to masque any flaws because there are not any.

sereena, Music is such an integral part of my life story that I feel as if I have to include music to supplement my writes. I know some people don't like it, even though it's easy to turn it off, but it means too much to me to post one without music. Thank you for lending some validation to what I try to do.
