Remember, I told you that I spent 3 months in San Diego at the Naval Training Center (NTC) back in the '80s and the climate was wonderful, if my wife and I were willing to be so far away from our families we'd be living there already. I tell Dee about the weather there and she gets this far-away, dreamy look in her eyes. What I say to every one of you Californians who tell me about the weather is this: but you don't ever see the beauty of the autumn changing of the leaves, which is...in and of itself, just as beautiful as anything in CA. And remember, I lived 2.5 years in Vallejo, right next door to the Napa Valley...gorgeous! Today is actually in the low 50s, rainy but better than seven inches of springtime. Thanks for your review, have a good one! take care...dan
A brutally hones piece of writing, Dan! I feel your words ebbing with sarcasm, and the way your sentences are conjured make it seem as though there is a disjointed fury about the weather that you are trying to express all at once. Seven inches..the phallic reference here too is striking, which goes on to highlight the complexity of your words!

(I was asked if the poem title was actually a poem title or a Viagra commercial!) And yes, there is a disjointed fury about it; all of us here in Western Pennsylvania are sick to death of this s**t...spring, come to us please? I appreciate your review, thanks so much. BTW, I'm telling all of my friends that I an having trouble keeping up with all of my friends' read/reviews; if you could send me read requests I'll definitely entertain them and give you my review. Have a great day! take care...dan
Dan, here in ohio it is sunny. 40's and 50's this week. Hope it's not a spring joke. I really enjoyed your clever sarcasm here. "seven more painful inches, with icy covering hard" hahaha another cold hard f**k from mother nature. "Ol man winter's favorite w***e running, screaming thru my door" Ya that was priceless :)
I hope spring don't dick around with us too. Love this piece, Dan!

Here in Indiana, PA this has been the winter from hell, and the way climate change has affected our seasonal cycles, I predict we'll (eventually) have about 5-6 weeks of spring, then 5 months of temps and humidity in the 90s. Then a month of autumn then back to wintry grey day after day. Pessimistic? No, realistic. Hey, have I reviewed any of yours yet? Are we friends? I'm going to send a friend request to be sure. I have a hard time keeping up with all my friends' writes, so please don't hesitate to send me a read request, ok? take care...dan

i especially like the verbal irony in the title...
You're knee deep in freezing temperatures and snow, and here it's hot and balmy and 85 degrees! I think Mother Nature enjoys toying with us, just to see how we deal with it.
Hang in there, Dan...your muse is most amazing!

This is a great write and I had so much fun reading it - just what I needed on a cold winter's day on the north east coast of Newfoundland, Canada. We have a few feet of snow here on the ground and this morning temperatures (without wind shield) was -17 centigrade. Thanks for sharing!
