just a thought

a thought, a moment in time as seen by the mind

just a thought

 

seeking my redemption, my way to inner peace,

is troubling and tragic and reserved, to say the least.

the inner workings of my mind surrender to the time

when words and feelings mingle, in between the lines.

 

these feelings run together, as some so sweetly do

and thoughts are all that separate the wrong way

and the true.

and when that way’s determined, and marked now

in the books,

redemption is now possible, however it may look.

Theres a philosophical bent to this - an "all is not yet lost" - an optimism - a "wait and see" feel which bouys the poem up and stops it sinking to the depths and taking the reader with it. Long may it continue!

Your rhyming is probably one of the best things about your poetry.
It comes naturally, doesn't feel forced.
