I was very intrigued by the tag line. As I read I was minded of the Butterfly effect in chaos theory which kind of states (uber-paraphrasing here) that a butterfly flapping its wings gently on one side of the world could be responsible for hurricane winds on the other side.

This reminds me of the EF5 tornado that struck Moore, Oaklahoma in 2013. I liked the analogy you gave the wind, "as it weeps".

Didn't get a chance to find out if I won or not. I had 21 challenge victories before the tech company they use lost over 3 months worth of submissions, running from October 2 till around Christmas. Hey, question: I wrote a poem for Christmas called "A Plea from Christmas Past," in which I bemoan the commercialization of the Christmas holiday season. Do you think I should post it here, or wait until next Christmas? Thank you, Kelly, for your continued support of my writing, you've very kind. take care...dan

I had a couple poems with a Christmas theme that I meant to post, but didn't. I thought of that very thing...but then decided to save them for the season. But hey, that's me. Go with what you want!
So beautiful, yet as the poem progresses, an underlying sence of danger as we meet up with the power and fickleness of Mother Nature. She can turn on a dime, blowing promises with a gentle breeze, only to trick us with a storm of monumental proportions. Excellent!

We're neighbors, too! I live in NY. I like having friends on here too. I wanted also to invite to a BETTER writing community, too. (I hope your offended if your loyal to this one.) The one I'm a member of has SO much more to offer. The reviews are fantastic, the writers are older, and give amazing critiques. They also have their own magazine and PAY for accepted submissions. There's contests, weekly wednesday challenges, and Power Hour sundays. You make a LOT of friends, there, too. If your curious, let me know.

Great visual here...this felt good reading, even when it became extremely blustery in the final stanza. Very cool, I like how you have painted this picture with you words.
