How the princess (my wife) and the prince (me) met and fell in love, like a fairy tale!

princess and prince

 

 

barefoot princess skips across the stream

and dreams

of future days

to gaze upon a boy too young

to turn into a prince.

 

princess sees a little boy so lost,

she sees him reaching for

the teaching of a love

he’s never felt before

or since.

 

boy, turned prince, is certain

that the hurt in

both their pasts

is cast

into the fires in the place where feelings

go to die.

 

then princess and her prince avert their gaze from skies

ablaze

with colors,

lovers, aimed toward forever,

spread their wings

to fly.
