Ovals

Ovals

A Poem by Rieja Thorn

Ovals

What is an oval?
it has two sides
and half a circle at each end.
you learn about circles in school
about pi and 3.14s
you learn about squares and rectangles
triangles and trapezoids,
but not ovals.
In our world today we forget about ovals
no one seems to find them important.
people don't care or want to care
but ovals are every where
in our homes in our schools and in the streets
we just need to notice them.
