Before

this was inspired when I was in my History class.

Before
before death
before life
when the world was set straight and right.
things lived in harmony
together
forever
but then darkness came
terrifying things
evil things
things that thought
they controlled nature

Now
now we realize what we have done
created darkness with out light
no goodness
no truth
just lies
just death
for the sake of expansion
and growth;
but what growth?
all I can see is destruction.
and I start to wonder why?

a good solid write..I like that your first stanza covered the before and after of the emgergance of man..and the second stanza covering the realization of what we have done to the Planet..a nice environmental poem, covered in a interesting way
