Once And ForeverA Poem by Antonio Valentino
Once And Forever
Like the early word
that gets the squirm
the morning, of lost interludes
between fate
and hollow
lays
still
in its fast
waiting to break
through the membrane
of its maidenhood
lingering, for a
whispered silence,
a feather of air
against the collar
of her quivering,
along the outer peel
of her erect nuzzling
beget by geese
underneath
the moist bumps
that tremble and strain
to break through
and fly
away from her parched
and breathless
skin
that keeps the
embodiment
of her virtuality
intact
and soft,
within.
And so
the rhythm of conception,
she continues.
A memoir of matter
and blood of
energy,
this, procreation of
need
and instinct
seen through
flowing sheers of
intricacy
framed
by the soft shards
of windowed
pain,
and pleasure.
It was
always to be,
of such
circles.
Aureoles of sigh
on chests heaving
toward the sky,
bands of
gold
purring melodies
around fingers,
ovals of puckered
lips
mouthing delicacies
of affection;
orbs, of eyes that glisten
and twitch
in dream,
never, passing
without a pause
to glance,
and remember;
the shape
of a tear
as it falls
onto the pillow
cooling the blush
beneath a lone,
star filled night.
A circle, a circle
is also
a zero.
Which is how I
feel
sometimes,
without you.
A story where
the beginning,
and the end
are the same.
Like you,
a perfection
of symmetry
and balance,
of harmony
and
artistry.
A fantasy
unabridged
over a sea
of no promises,
a fairytale
of infinite,
in a wind up
music box
that chose,
to keep
dancing.
Life is sometimes
not
getting what you want,
but receiving
what you
deserve,
I guess.
You never have to
say goodbye
to someone
if that person gives you
a part of them
to take with you
and keep,
as part of how you
see
and feel things
around you,
forever.
It’s taken me a long
time
to understand,
how hard it is
lose something
you never even,
had.
It’s kind of hard to forget
someone though
when sky and the ocean
remind you
of them,
and like the sea,
I keep holding
and holding
on,
but the water
within my
hands,
she is gone
she is,
gone.
Nothing left
in my grip
but the salt
of tears
that slipped
and memories
of you
lingering
in my veins.
How do you disremember
someone
when they once wrote
inside your heart,
where the breeze of their words,
once
and forever blew.
I’ve spent so much
time
trying to figure out
the universe,
with all its
beauty
and wonderment.
It’s a pretty big poem though
but I’m working my way
through it,
one star at a time
though hope filled
eyes
of notion
and wish.
The universe
is a blindingly dark
and beautifully
unfair
place,
filled with
an elegance
of mystery
and an edge
of circumstance.
The cosmos
in and of itself
never
really will
make true sense.
That’s why
it invented,
us.
Me and you.
We are
the chosen,
in this blink
of kingdom come
that will
be done
to speak
for
the eternities
to make reason
and meaning
of its whole
purpose,
to justify
and validate
its discrimination
and its
justness,
its oppression
and its
tolerance,
its utter agony
and its full
compassion,
its venomous bite
of hate
and its,
unconditional kiss
of forgiveness
through the shouts of your
soft scream
piercing the vastness, near
and beyond,
of me
of me,
forever,
within you.
