This Night

This Night

It was through the gate
of ceaseless venture
where we first met
n that fate and timeless night.

You,
from your land of dawning
where saints of roses nestle
betwixt the harborage of bays mist
and unheard grapevines,
that meet the sea.

Let us engage
among the winds
of ‘morrows kiss
where thickets of conceivings
wallow through
sweet dreams of everlast.

Come with me my dear
and flame thy wick
of candles night
you, my lost wind
of deathless eyes,
you,
my muse of heavens
creaking gate.

Share with me our
bite of hope
as I slowly
lick the wounds
of your past
and heal
of always
your days to be.

Spread your light
upon
river’s mouth
and hold
firm veins
within your
open and
shadowed glory.

Satiate
your rich longing
as I criss cross
gushing landscapes
burrowing
into those secret
sounds,
untying
your skintight knot
of solitude.

You are the song
of plants
and waves of shouts
and foam
amidst the broken statues
of lust
and burnt water.

And yet,
if you still
can not see
between the
fondness
that you hold
so entirely
listen to the voice
inside.

Your heart
will somehow,
let you know.

And so
please don’t read
into my words
or pages filled
of light.

Anything
except for you,
the love
I have,
this night.

(sorry, the formatting didn't quite follow through on the paste) the above lines are stunning. This is a wonderful piece and your imagery here carries the reader through the character's emotions flawlessly.

My God! This is stunning!!! I'm almost speechless. The play of your words is lovely - the images are dripping in beauty.

This is a paramount companion to Secret.

I bow.

Nice job.

Incredibly clever.... ;-)

You end this so sweetly, from your pages of light to the love you have this night. This is really sensual.
