Falling In Fatuation

Falling In Fatuation

A Poem by Antonio Valentino

They say, you are,
who loves you

In reflections
even blind can see

 Like endless thirsts
of our embrace

on swells
of windless tides
to be

The only love
we get to keep
is that

for which
we gave

The rest like water
in our hand
we hold so tight

but still,

we cannot save

Never comes the day
when you
won’t

be a part of

who I am

In all the unseen
reasons

that we need
both to
survive

And yet,

will always
moments have

where you are
always,

by my side

pushing on,
tomorrow’s gate

and crossing over

bridgeless
skies

Love is what

the poet,
imagines

and with it,

we are one

To fall
In fatuation
with

the promise,

of forever

Will always be
the love
we share
right now,

that's

just begun

Lovely - I think the most profound lines for me were:

'The only love
we get to keep
is that

for which
we gave' - very telling - how true - we are what we sow. Thank you. Beautiful write.
Light,
Siddartha
