First MeetingA Chapter by RodyannI look down the hallway and wonder to myself ' Why me? 'My heart races and my breath drwa short but what's the point? Nothing ever happens. I remember finding myself at the same spot a year ago and laughed to myself. "Erin, Are you O.K. ?" Jessica asks obviuosly freaked. I nod still in thought. I looked on as he passed my locker, without as much of a glance in my direction and into his batch of the 'popular crew'. Ric Sanders the all-rounder: cool, talented, strong , popular, HOT and so out of my league. The bell snapped me out my fantasy bringing me back to the noise-filled hallway. I locked my locker and ran up to step with Jessica. " Girl, Are you still crushing major over this guy? '' she says as we near the class door. "No!" She gave me the 'Yeah right' look which always shakes me up. But she was right (as always. don't tell her). But i wasn't lying in entirety. I do more than crush major on him.
WE SAT!
The sound bringing the close of my Chemistry class startled me. Had forty-five minutes really passed that quickly? "Hey!" Jess ran after me. " Did," she took a break to catch her breath, " Did you get anything in class today? '' Shaking my head, I try to remember what was taught. I recalled something abot Filtation- or was it Formulae? Great Erin. Way to be focused. I must have been distant because I knew I found myself on the ground laid across- tada- Ric. "I'm-I-I...so sorry." Thoughts and words disappeared and all in my mind was, ' I'm touching Ric!' I scrambled to get up. "Calm down," he sad helping me take up my books. "Only an accident. Coulda happened to anyone. Here." Giving me back my books he introduced himself. Where was my sensibility? All i could do was nod and take flight.
What do you thnk I should have done?
Third period started and all I was waiting for was for school to end. What worse of a thing could happen? How bad can a bad day be? Jessica doesn't take Advanced History but-- " Ms. Erin! I suggest you bring your mind to earth." I blushed as Mr. Henrique's spoke. " Class, Class!"' the stoutly gaited man ordered. "Based on what we have been investigating in our last class, I would you a project based on the topics outlined last class." the class groaned. " O.K. To make it easier, it will be done in groups of two." Few minutes later, everyone is paired in groups- except me. "Sir. I'm not in a grou..." Sir's attention was diverted to the the knock on the door which opened to Ric. "Good Morning. Sorry to be late." He handed him a piece of paper which after reading nodding and said, " Erin seems you now have a patner." 'OH gosh...' Saved by the bell, I took up my books and sprinted without up.
"Your patner is Ric?" Jessica asked as we filled our trays. " Wait! He's in advanced? I thought jocks weren't..." "Guess he switched classes." Jess wanted details which i wouldn't suffice. As we walked to our table she began talking non- stop about how lucky I was and it was getting to me. " Are you O.k.?" "Yeah sure." Right. How am I to do this if I can't stay focused in class three-quarters of the time? I popped a piece of pizza in my mouth. At least the cafeteria was the one place where I was free from Ric's presence. Popular=Better treatment
"Thought you'd be excited." " I am. " she looked at me. " Really I am." Yeah. Exciting about spending two weeks close to him making myself look like a big fool. And what if he figues out i do like him?
