Lest you forget, I KnowA Poem by RichMyselfFrom the start, through all of its sins, to its bitter end, as all relationships end.It was the lightening and the storm, It was the darkened skies and sodden trees blown and pushed, ripped and torn. As I turned away, there was that one break in time when the sun parts, the scarlet rays beat to the ground ten seconds before and fifteen after and the storm is here cutting loose and in its prime
I took them back and played that game let the rain fall on their parade watched them take the walk of shame the deed is done, the argument of storm and sky made
I tried to be king, whilst living in a pauper’s court told the world I would never be back made my nightmares and conquests come to life broke promises and fell short
To all and sunder of this forsaken place I was the getaway kid the boy where the horizon was never enough I am bigger than this, better than that I will be gone without a trace I was the prince, I was the face So when the bars close and my morning afters and bitter regrets stumble away forget me never, forget me always
It was the lightening and storms, the last I saw From the times I had run of this town they cracked the sky and brought it down as I turned away and took off my hollow crown. © 2014 RichMyselfAuthor's Note
