1. Eating Right It might come as a challenge to students to have a balanced diet, bearing in mind that they do not have many choices. Their options mostly depend on the cafeteria food or ordering from fast food restaurants. However, some ways can help you keep check of what you eat. Breakfast is an essential meal so as much as you might be in a rush to get to that class; you can grab a banana which will go a long way in sustaining you. Do not skip meals and yes, you might think that you’re busy writing that essay paper that has a deadline but taking time to have a salad or a sandwich can make a tremendous difference. For dinner, you can try having a proper meal that contains a balance of protein, whole grain, vegetable and fruit. You should keep things like nuts, string cheese, and pre-cut vegetables, so that you can always snack healthy.
2. Sleep College students often for pulling all-nighters to write a paper or study for an exam, or it could be they are out partying with friends. This should not turn into a habit. You should create a bedtime routine and stick to it. Avoid working in bed as this can deprive you of sleep and do not take caffeine at night. Sleep deprivation can cause you to have fatigue, lose weight, have headaches and reduce brain function. If possible, try and get a full night’s sleep.
3. Exercise It can be a bit difficult for a student to fit excise into their busy schedule. Nevertheless, there are ways to help you keep fit while maintaining your busy schedule. Try walking to class; you can also ride a bike to school instead of taking a bus. Many of the schools offer gym facilities for free so take advantage of that.
4. Drink Plenty of Water There is not a single person who doesn’t need water. You can write a book about the importance. Water keeps you hydrated, replenishes your body, prevents you from overheating and gives you energy through the day. Instead of taking juices or soda, drink water instead. You should carry water with you anywhere you go.
5. Relax Relaxing can be a vocabulary to students as most of the time they are stressed that they haven’t finished writing an assignment or there is an activity to do each time. Taking a rest and relaxing can help you stay healthy. Give yourself regular breaks and hang out with friends, read a book, pick a hobby or see that movie you’ve been dying to watch.
