Pet Sounds Brian Wilson

Pet Sounds Brian Wilson

A Poem by Richard Lane
"

A slightly fictional prose poem infusing my love of dancing and dance music and my like of the album Pet Sounds by Brian Wilson when he was still with the Beach Boys.

"

i heard your voice

before i reached the stage

to watch what i was

hearing as your song was

the catalyst driving me

to run onto the stage so

i could sing that song,

but i can't sing

to save my life

so i'm allowing

 my two left feet

to stay on the ground

and instead of

singing

I will simply dance

all night with the

beautiful woman

I had seen and talked to only

a few hours before

the DJ played

put your head on your shoulder

until the both of us

were so tired,

that kissing each other on the lips

was the only thing

we could do

before the nightclub closed up at 3:15 in the am.

You are a astounding poet. Sometimes I feel intimidated to comment. ^^* But you pen words so fluently and with genuine heart.
