Jazz Vox Finale

Jazz Vox Finale

A Poem by Richard Lane

I am talking about the kind of Jazz
that burns straight

through to

your soul as if it were a wrecking ball filled

with bricks and metal

starting out as molten

liquid

until the cycle of it's driving

wheels end

just as the

songs that you were dancing to all

evening

doesn't seem to want to

clear your head as you’re drinking a glass of Rum and Coke,

With a twist of lime and preferably without the straw.
