Girls Wearing Glasses

apparently i never took dorothy parker's line about guys not making passes at women who 

wear glasses seriously. because i'm a guy and i've made passes at women who wear glasses

and i know from experience that many of those women are damn good kissers too.

....As long as the other person is not wearing glasses during this kiss....then they just end up tangled together by the frames and it can be very awkward....
Dorothy Parker was such a funny lady. I am sure she would have had guys lined up around the block even if she was wearing a potato sack as a hat.

:-) Yes you are right and I took her comment to be more of satirical statement. Dorothy Parker's work is often very enjoyable to read even when she wrote her many reviews of other writers including Jack Kerouac's On The Road. Almost all of the authors I have read are Women writers. Speaking of which I am planning on purchasing a novel written by Zelda Zayre Fitzgerald called "Save Me The Waltz". She wrote the novel when she was living in Baltimore, Maryland (which is my birthplace), with her Husband F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Ah, well, you see I am biased because I think women make the best writers ;) Hmmm...oddly enough, I have never read "Save Me The Waltz" but I will have to look into it now because I love a good book. But when it comes to her husband, I have never been a fan, ten pages worth of describing just what the grass was like in the front yard.....F. Scott was always far too long winded for me!

:-) I know how you feel. I was given his book to read as part of a book report assignment in 1984 and I was falling asleep trying to at least try to have a book report in by the next day. I remember the day I was in the school library reading the book and I wound up getting out of my chair and I noticed this huge book on the Beat Generation including Lawrence Ferlinghetti. :-)

I suppose that is why footnotes were invented? I love when they have made a movie out of boring books. It came in handy in my high school years. Two hours of staring at a television, bullshit my way through an essay, mission complete!
