Scene 1

(We're with Emilio in his apartment, he is getting ready to go into work and we see Allye come downstairs with her backpack)

 

Allye

I have a meeting after school with FDC

 

Emilio

Ok, do you need a ride home?

 

Allye

No Jason will bring me home

 

Emilio

Ok then I'll be here

 

Allye

Ok see you later

 

(She goes to give him a kiss and leaves, Emilio grabs his briefcase and starts to walk out the door when his phone rings and he sees it’s Raquel)

 

Emilio

Hello

 

(cut to)

Raquel

Hey I'm calling to let you know that you’re in for a big surprise when you get to work

 

(cut to)

Emilio

What happened?

 

(cut to)

Raquel

Your brother married Zahar

 

(cut to)

Emilio

Juan?

 

(cut to)

Raquel

No! Jose, he married her and gave her his share of the company

 

(Emilio puts the phone down and takes a deep breath)

 

Emilio

You’re serious

 

Raquel

Yeah

 

(then cut to the entrance to Esperanza Enterprises, we see Zahar walk in and everyone is looking at her as she walks in, we cut to the lobby between Juan and Sarai's offices. She sees Jose's office and takes off his nametag and places her in it. When she walks into the office she closes the door and sits at the desk and takes a deep breath in)

 

Zahar

I'm here. I'm finally here. It’s my time now

 

(Fade out)

Scene 2

(We're with Malory in her office; she has a hung over look on her face and is sitting at her desk, at that moment Santino walks in)

 

Santino

How was the party last night?

 

Malory

What party?

 

Santino

Chloe's party, you know the one where I got 15 patients with alcohol poisoning and had to pump their stomachs

 

Malory

Oh, um I wouldn't know I wasn't there

 

Santino

Well according to all 15 of those patients you were the life of the party, it seems that you were all over the place with drinks and men

 

Malory

(getting red from embarrassment) Santino I-

 

Santino

Don't say a thing. I understand that Ama is gone but that is no reason to go out and just drink the world dry and sleep with anyone that walks

 

Malory

But, it was just a crazy night nothing more

 

Santino

I'm worried that you might not be up to your job right now

 

Malory

Wait what are you trying to say

 

Santino

I'm suspending you from the company

 

(Mallory's is shocked when she hears this, we cut to Esperanza Enterprises and Emilio just walked in and he sees Zahar settling into her new office then he shudders and walks into Juan's office and its him and Sarai)

 

Emilio

Please tell me this is just a joke your playing on me

 

Sarai

Unfortunately no. Your brother has given her his shares.

 

Emilio

Why dad gave him shares I have no idea why

 

Juan

The more important thing is that we don't let her get anywhere near where we stand

 

Emilio

Well we all have an equal share in the company so how is that possible?

 

Juan

I'm going to start getting stock in her company, right now she's interested in getting Esperanza Enterprises and Sinai Industries will be left open and surprise surprise (he clicks a key on his laptop) we now have a major share in her company

 

Emilio

Juan

I have bought 10%

 

Emilio

How much does she have?

 

Juan

Emilio

How are you going to get the rest

 

Juan

Offering to buy up stock from her shareholders at double the price they bought for it

 

Emilio

Sarai

Emilio

Well I have to handle the press' reaction to this I mean you two (towards Sarai) only made your feelings towards each other public every time you were near

 

Sarai

Well just play it off as no big deal, no instead do one better tell the truth

 

(Emilio looks confused) (Fade out)

 

Scene 3

(We're with Zahar in her new office and she's getting together files on the company’s past fiscal years, in walks Emilio and sets files down on her desk)

 

Zahar

What is this?

 

Emilio

Your contract

 

Zahar

I’m guessing you got my request for all my needs here.

 

Emilio

Yes and I decided that you don’t need them so if you will sign I can allow you to look at more of those files

 

Zahar

(pulls out a pen and signs her name) Ok now?

 

(Emilio whistles and in walks a janitor with two large boxes of files)

 

Emilio

Here are the files you requested.

 

Zahar

Your just gonna hand them over like that?

 

Emilio

You are an employee of this company now so I can’t withhold information.

 

Zahar

(surprised) Really now?

 

Emilio

That doesn’t mean I have to like it, but it’s in the contract and well you are an executive

 

Zahar

Well either way I respect you for this

 

(Emilio walks out and Zahar starts opening the boxes, Juan then walks in)

 

Juan

Waste no time do you?

 

Zahar

Well at least two of Sarai’s children are civil

 

Juan

Well at least she raised one right

 

Zahar

Oh I scheduled a meeting with the accounting office to go over reports and I wanna be briefed on what’s been going on

 

Juan

You have no authority to do that, I run this company

 

Zahar

The memo is waiting on your desk, its voluntary

 

Juan

Enjoy your time here, it won’t be long before I get you out

 

(Zahar laughs and turns around)

 

(Fade out)

Scene 4

(We’re at Malory’s office)

 

Malory

What do you mean I’m suspended? You can’t suspend me!

 

Santino

Don’t forget that I’m President of the Board hermana! This is not permanent, it’s only temporary until you grow up and start acting like an adult

 

Malory

You’re not gonna find a suitable replacement to keep this company going!

 

Santino

I already have

 

Malory

Who?

 

(Santino goes towards the door and opens it and in walks Maria)

 

Malory

Tu tambien Maria?!

 

Santino

She is the only person who knows this company as well as you do and she can get the job done

 

Maria

Malory this isn’t a takeover, we just need you to sober up before you try running this company.

 

Malory

Sober up? What are you talking about?

 

Maria

I found the scotch pourer shattered and empty by the door yesterday, you’ve had that pourer for years and it was empty in a matter of days.

 

Malory

That doesn’t mean anything!

 

Santino

Your suspension will start tomorrow, any decisions you make today will go through, but only for today.

 

Malory

Fine!

 

(Malory sits down angrily while Maria and Santino leave, when they leave she picks up the phone and dials a number)

 

Malory

Chloe? This is Malory I need you to get me a resignation form. Yes and can you bring me one of our catalogues please, I’m in need of a new pourer.

 

(We cut to Emilio’s office. He’s assembling the press kits for the press conference when Juan walks in)

 

Emilio

This is going to be an interesting press conference, and with Mother wanting me to tell the truth of how Zahar got the shares, this is gonna be ugly.

 

Juan

I hope so, Zahar usually goes for nice and elegant we need to expose her true intentions.

 

Emilio

Fair enough, oh wait (checks watch) damn I have a conference with one of Allye’s teachers.

Juan

Is it right now?

 

Emilio

In a few minutes.

 

Juan

I’ll go ahead, why don’t you finish these and I’ll be back in time for the press conference.

 

Emilio

Really?

 

Juan

Yeah, just finish these and I’ll be back in a bit.

 

Emilio

Thanks bro.

 

(Fade out)

Scene 5

(Juan is walking into Allye’s high school. He walks down the hall for awhile looking for Allye’s teacher’s room, then he hears his name. He turns around and sees Samira Guerrero, Athens’ wife)

 

Samira

What are you doing here?

 

Juan

Emilio had a conference with one of Allye’s teachers, a Ms. Garcia?

 

Samira

Oh yeah she’s down the second hall on the left.

 

Juan

So I hear congratulations are in order for you and Athens?

 

Samira

(big smile) Yes two years have gone by.

 

Juan

Yeah I remember back at college.

 

Samira

Y tu?

 

Juan

Que?

 

 

Samira

Well did you ever go after her?

 

Juan

(stiffens) No

 

Samira

Ay Dios Juan! Por que?

 

Juan

I’m not one for love, I’ll just go by in life and give what I can.

 

Samira

She was perfect for you.

 

Juan

(changing the subject) Ok so you said Allye’s teacher is down the second hall to the left?

 

Samira

Yes, oh and can you come by and see your godchild every once in awhile?

 

Juan

I haven’t seen Christian in a while, well I’ll stop by later on today and see him, see you tonight?

 

Samira

Ok Juan, I’ll let you off this time but if you don’t go after her I will tell her!

 

(Juan continues walking as she’s speaking and turns down the hall and enters a room, in there he sees Allye and her teacher sitting at a desk, and Allye notices Juan walk in)

 

Allye

Tio Juan? What are you doing here?

 

Juan

Your father is working on a press kit for the press conference today and asked me to take his place.

 

Ms. Garcia

Hello Mr. Esperanza, I’m Patricia Garcia Alexandria’s English teacher.

 

Juan

Mucho gusto

 

Patricia

Well I called Alexandria’s father in but since you are here and a guardian I can fill you in on the reason I requested this conference.

 

Juan

Yes go ahead.

 

Patricia

Well, since the loss of her mother, Allye hasn’t been doing very well in her school work-

 

Juan

As to be expected, I wasn’t expecting her to just continue her good grades.

 

Patricia

I understand, but it goes beyond that. Do you want to show him Allye?

 

(Allye is shaking a little, she then pulls up the sleeves of her sweater, and exposes suicide marks across her wrists and arms, Juan’s eyes widen)

 

(Fade out)
