Scene 1

(We pick up in Juan's office. He is on his laptop looking at the bank statement for Jose's trust over the last few months. In walks Athens Guerrero, the CFO for Esperanza Enterprises)

 

Athens

Just came back from Financial and I found some budget cuts that would help us get out of this rut we're in

 

(He sets down a folder and Juan picks it up and opens it)

 

Juan

Seems plausable enough

 

Athens

(confused look) Plausable? That's the best you got?

 

Juan

I trust your judgment, after all you are CFO

 

Athens

Something else is on your mind

 

Juan

(sighs) I'm looking over Jose's bank statements from his trust, take a look at this

 

(Athens walks around the desk and looks into the screen then his eyes widen)

 

Athens

You can't be serious

 

Juan

That was all from a poker game he went to last week

 

Athens

He lost that?!

 

Juan

Yeah, now he wants money for a trip to Barbados for their Semana de Carnaval

 

Athens

Hey it gets kickin down there around that time

 

Juan

Either way, I hope this boy realizes that he needs to grow up, time to be a man

 

(Cut to Zahar's office, we are picking up where the last episode left off)

 

Zahar

You must be out of your mind

 

Jose

No as a matter of fact I'm quite sane

 

Zahar

You’re willing to give me your share of Esperanza Enterprises in return for $5 million dollars, and we get married?

 

Jose

Correct

 

Zahar

Why marriage?

 

Jose

I hate Sarai and Juan, you hate them too. I think that it would mess with them horribly if we were to be married

 

Zahar

You give me the shares first

 

Jose

No

 

(Zahar's face shows her frustration, fade out)

Scene 2

(We are with Raquel in her office. We see her looking over many reports when Zahar suddenly rushes in and closes the door)

 

Raquel

What happened?

 

Zahar

I did it!

 

Raquel

Did what?

 

Zahar

I now have power to get Esperanza Enterprises

 

Raquel

Ok I'll bite, how?

 

 

 

Zahar

That idiot Jose is willing to give me his share of the company if I give him $5 million dollars and marry him

 

Raquel

(shocked) What?

 

Zahar

He's willing to give me all he's got for some millions and a marriage

 

Raquel

(gets up quickly) Please tell me you’re not considering it?

 

Zahar

Like hell I'm not! I've been waiting years for this opportunity and I will not give it up

 

Raquel

Marriage is a serious thing Zahar! It isn't just something that you can back out of like a business deal!

 

Zahar

You’re going to call our head of PR and tell him to alert the tabloids right now that me and Jose Esperanza are headed to the courthouse.

 

(Zahar starts to leave and Raquel still can't believe what she's heard, then Zahar turns around)

 

Zahar

Oh and Raquel, this is just like a business deal, only personal

 

(cut to Juan's office, him and Athens and looking at the bank statements from Jose's trust)

 

Athens

This is ridiculous, your brother goes through this and thinks nothing of it

 

Juan

I remember when I got my trust; pop would watch every move I did to make sure I wasn't acting a fool

 

Athens

(checks his watch) Oh damn, I have to head out.

 

Juan

Oh that's right today's yours and Samira's anniversary right?

 

Athens

2 years already

 

Juan

Damn I remember when we all first met

 

 

Athens

Yeah and you?

 

Juan

What about me?

 

Athens

C'mon Juan, when are you gonna man up and go after her

 

(Juan looks frustrated and turns back into looking into the reports as Athens leaves, we cut to Santino's office in the hospital. He is looking at some patient's charts when Denzel Garner walks in. He's the Head of Pediatrics and good friends with Santino)

 

Denzel

Got you those reports you needed sir

 

Santino

Thank you very much. I think I have everything I need for the budget plan

 

Denzel

Yeah if you want I could use an extra grand for stress given to me on this job

 

Santino

You're messed up you know that right?

 

Denzel

Messed up people make this world go round

 

(They both laugh as they walk out of his office, at this moment a young woman and girl are walking towards both of them, this is Taylor Garner Denzel's adopted daughter and his wife Melanie)

 

Taylor

Hi dad!

 

Denzel

Well hello there little person

 

Taylor

Dad I already said stop with the short jokes

 

(they both laugh)

 

Denzel

Um, Melanie and Taylor this is Dr. Valenova he's my boss here

 

Melanie

(very polite) Very nice to meet you

 

 

Santino

Same here

 

Taylor

Me and mom were about to head out to the Coffeehouse for some drinks, would you like to join us?

 

Denzel

Yes I would love to, if that's ok boss?

 

Santino

Yeah you're good to go

 

(Taylor, Melanie and Denzel give their goodbyes and leave the hospital at that moment we see Maria walk into the hospital with a plastic bag, Santino notices her)

 

Santino

Maria?

 

Maria

Ay dios mio Santino I've been looking for you all over this hospital

 

Santino

Why whats wrong? Is it Malory?

 

Maria
Well I'm not sure but I am worried

 

Santino

Why

 

Maria

I went into her office to ask her for the ad campaign to give it a look over, but she was gone and I looked by the door and found this

 

(she gives Santino the bag, Santino opens it and sees shards of glass)

 

Santino

What's this?

 

Maria

That's the pourer for her scotch

 

(Santino looks again then looks up and sees Maria's worried face, fade out)

Scene 3

(We're back in Juan's office. He is packing and getting ready to leave when suddenly his phone rings.)

 

Juan

(picking up the phone) Juan Esperanza

 

(cut to Raquel)

Raquel

You need to put it on the news now

 

(cut to Juan)

Juan

Ok?

 

(Juan picks up a remote on his desk and turns on the TV)

 

TV newscaster

This just in, from Sinai Industries. CEO Zahar Rodriguez is heading to the Harris County courthouse to marry Jose Esperanza, son of Sarai Esperanza and heir to the family company Esperanza Enterprises, we will be coming at you with a live feed from the courthouse

 

(Juan is now shaking with anger and we hear Raquel on the other line)

 

(cut to Raquel)

Raquel

Juan, Juan are you there?!

 

(cut to Juan)

Juan

I will call you back. (he hangs up) AMA!

 

(Sarai walks in)

 

Sarai

What mijo?

 

(Juan points to the tv, Sarai looks at it, then her eyes widen)

 

Sarai

Por favor, no no no

 

Juan

I'm gonna kill him!

 

(Sarai and Juan both leave the office and we cut to outside of the courthouse and Zahar and Jose are outside the courtroom. Zahar is on the phone when suddenly Jose's phone starts ringing, he pulls it out and sees it says Juan, he ignores it and puts it back in his pocket, at that moment a man sticks his head out of the courtroom

 

Man

We're ready for you, the Justice of the Peace is here

 

Zahar

We're ready

 

(Jose and Zahar both stand side by side and walk into the courtroom together, fade out)

Scene 4

(We're inside the courtroom with Zahar and Jose. They are standing in front of the Justice of the Peace and facing each other as the Justice speaks)

 

Justice

Do you have the rings?

 

Zahar

No

 

Justice

Do you have vows?

 

Jose

No

 

Justice

Then why the heck are-

 

Zahar

We just need to document this now hurry up and sign the damn paper!

 

(The Justice looks insulted but pulls out the certificate and all three of them sign it, the Justice then leaves both Zahar and Jose stay)

 

Zahar

Now where is the contract?

 

Jose

(pulls it  out of his jacket pocket) Aqui

 

Zahar

(takes it and reads it over) Ok then

 

(Zahar takes a pen and signs the contract along with Jose and at that moment Juan and Sarai both burst in)

 

Juan

You son of a-(Sarai grabs him)

 

Sarai

No Juan! He's not worth it, (she looks at the contract) or anything now for that matter

 

Jose

You would try to be hurtful right now wouldn't you Sarai, well either way I have hit both of you where it hurts the most. Your precious company

 

Juan

You never should have been named after our father!

 

Sarai

Jose you have done some horrible things, but giving away your birthright?

 

Zahar

That birthright is now mine. I will be by tomorrow to set up my new office

 

Sarai

You set one foot in there-

 

Zahar

I will be shown where my office is (she waves the contract in Sarai's face)

 

Sarai

You think your tough now Zahar? You don't wanna go to battle with me, I will bring down a world of hurt on you!

 

Zahar

As part of the ownership of the company I feel that I should definitely be entitled to Jose's position, what exactly was that?

 

Jose

Don't know, never been in my office

 

Juan

(stands in front of Zahar) I've never hated someone so much as I hate you right now

 

Zahar

What makes this so funny is you think I care, vamanos Jose!

 

(both of them leave the courtroom, leaving Sarai and Juan)

 

Juan

How could he do this?

 

Sarai

I can't believe that he just handed this company over to her

 

Juan

I want everything he has! His apartment, his trust, everything!

 

Sarai

His trust is gone

 

Juan

What?

 

Sarai

Zahar most likely included that in the things she would get with this marriage

 

Juan

Well he deserves that

 

Sarai

We can't let her have a say in our company what do we do?

 

Juan

We're gonna get our hands on as much stock as possible, we are gonna gain ground so she gets pushed back more

 

Sarai
