Down

Down

A Poem by Kris

I am falling.

Down

 dOwn

  doWn

   dowN

I go,

spiraling out of control.

Gravity overrules all.

and my broken beaten wings

have no wind beneath them.

they do nothing to stop me from falling

Down

 dOwn

  doWn

   dowN

'til I hit the ground.

The cold hard cement rushes up to meet me.

Spots of crimson fall to my feet.

My robes are ragged and worn

weathered and torn.

pure white covered in splashes of fresh red and think lines of black.

The ring around my head, dented and abused.

Halo no longer shining,

Wings no longer fluttering,

Robes no longer clean,

Face no longer cherubic.

Because I am no longer an angel.

For I have fallen.
