We Must Finish All Things Faster

We Must Finish All Things Faster

A Chapter by Asakara Yoruto

29th April 2020. 15:13.

I am forced by Riku to be a coach for her soccer team. I refused and try to escape at first, but my switch has been turned on.

In one day, I intend to make the team stronger and hurry to get back to school. But as I expected, it is impossible.

It’s because I miscalculated something. I supposed to severe Ran and Meira from being together. From the mood this morning, I must know that they won’t make up.

Even now, when I transferred Sao and I back to the lobby. I transferred all people in the pump area and I found 3 people were watching a cat fight.

I asked Riku what happened, but she replied,

“I think this is your fault…”

The hell! As I expected, they won’t make up!

I asked Nao instead.

“My guess missed a lot…”

She is muttering something.

“How many hours did it go?”

“2 hours, 34 minutes, 2.56 seconds. Already decreased by the breaks, coach.”

“That’s too detailed! Did you even concentrate on your training?”

“That’s…”

She didn’t answer me clearly. As I expected, Meira was too busy to teach Nao and Touko to use the right technique and basic of foot play.

It’s my fault to sent Ran in the first place…

“And Riku, if you are not doing anything, stop them!”

I turned my view to Riku and scolded her.

“It’s a pain to.”

“At least do what it takes to support your own team!”

“I can’t help it~. The shows are too fun that even it is impossible to stop. Isn’t that right, Nao-chan, Touko-chan?”

The other two nodded.

I tried to analyze Riku’s sentence further. I found something that is really captivated my interest.

“Shows? It means that they were doing many things?”

“Baseball…”

“2 people for baseball!?”

“200 meters running…”

“That sounds harsh.”

 “Slave and master…”

“That’s impossible!”

“Kou-nii, I’m just joking for the last match, although there are more than what I said. Your old habit is still here, you know.”

“Just at a time like this you called me that, eh…? But the one that gave me this habit is you!”

“Think about it, you got a point.”

Right, my tsukkomi habit is already planted in me since the first time I lived together with Nagi-oba-san and Riku.

When I was helping Nagi oba-san to dry the clothes, Riku who was still 2 years went outside the second floor and almost fell to first floor.

“Da~!”

She said cutely. But to me, it’s a death flag.

“Watch out!”

I covered for her with dropping the mattress and fall with it.

I hugged her while falling to minimize the damages. It’s good that it just my arm that is dislocated a bit.

I saw her face was smiling and began to speak.

“wone wore!”

“Don’t!”

I accompanied Riku to her friend’s birthday party.

She went closer to the birthday cake that certainly not hers. I know that she will blow the candle immediately.

“Stop!”

I stopped her with my fast leg and ended up almost destroying the whole cake.

I apologized to her friend that having her birthday. Not like Riku, she forgave me. What a brilliant girl to not mad because her birthday ruined, although she’s just 4 years old… I cried a lot on what I did.

“Kou-nii, don’t cry.”

“It’s your fault at the beginning, you know!”

Although I shouted at her, she smiled like it was just a joke.

And the habit continues till a year after that, so I need to ask her teacher the birthday list of her friends to anticipate further social damages.

I played soccer to forget some of my burdens.

She came out from the house wearing a pair of shoes.

“What are you doing?”

“I want to play soccer!”

At the first time, I was happy because she will play along with me.

I put the ball on my right and said,

“Now, try kicks the round thing in your front.”

*bam*

I lost my consciousness.

When I wake up, I found myself in a hospital.

The nurse said that I have been here for 3 days without waking up.

Riku came in to the room where I was hospitalized and said,

“Sorry, I saw your head is the only round thin in my view…”

That’s really what happened!? I wanted to tsukkomi her, but when I saw her apologizing honestly, I patted her head and said,

“It’s fine.”

After that, she’s still rude, but she played soccer together with me without kicking my head ever again.

That’s the end of flashback.

Now, back to present, she’s still rude to me.

When the clock hit the time 15:30, I transferred Glen and Yomi back to here.

“Yosh~!”

I tap the window to send them back here.

As what I see, Yomi is sure has progressed well.

She hides behind the back of a boy she just met today, great!

Glen walked to me.

“Shirogane-san, did you change the mode?”

“I didn’t.”

“There’s no way, because the city has become monster hunting world for some seconds! Look, you have scared Hidari-san!”

“Wait! I really can’t follow your statements! Could you explain to me?”

He explained that when the clock shows 15:07, the city has turned into monster slaying area. I didn’t do anything to harm them.

“Is this problem have occurred before?”

“This is the first time.”

If it’s like that, the answer is just one left.

“The reason of that is a system error. Maybe that was caused by the people in here. The system can’t operate properly.”

And with that, it’s a shame but…

“Meira, Ran. On tomorrow training, you two can’t follow us.”

Of course the two of them can’t accept quickly.

“Why us, senpai?”

“Kou-kun~!”

The two of them were mad at me.

“Well, everyone except you two have roles here. Whose fault is it to just play? If you two could train the two of them correctly, we can back to school earlier than we expected!”

My coach soul has activated. I scolded them and sent us out of the Data Land.

Of course things between me, Ran, and Meira is awkward.

Riku and the others were planning on going to McDonor.

It left the three of us, Seigo’s students, waking home on the same way.

I lead them without saying anything.

I know that I have been too harsh to them.

On the half-way to my house, there is still not a single voice of us talking.

I want to end this awkward mood and going home peacefully. This is just too peaceful that it scares me out! The two of them that supposed to be noisy around me became this quiet, it is weird!

I braced myself to end this mood.

“Hey, you two, I will grant you two a minor wish to make up my harsh words before. Could you two forgive me?”

The two of them cheered back without responding to my statements.

They grabbed my hand as they about to lead me the way.

Geez, I really don’t understand you two!
