UntitledA Poem by Mariah Lynn Thompsonwritten december 23, 2019
Again I sit at the bottom
No energy to even move No motivation to change my situation I'm back in my dark place But the earth beneath me Begins to crumble and shake A declination of the situation Time to put on a war face I use my fists I break the bricks I use them as footholds and slowly I lift I reach the top and slab tries to block But I move it aside I will never stop The sky vomit sunlight It burns my eyes, so bright Still slowly I alight I'm alive, and everything is right
