Haunting You

Haunting You

A Poem by Mariah Lynn Thompson

I'll be your ghostly companion.
For me, you did abandon,
To the hounds, to the hounds.
They ate me up and left only bones
Now in your mind, my soul has a home.

I'll be the haunted key,
That tells you, "Come and see,
Come and see behind the door."
I'll be the siren calling out your name.
In life or death, I still play your game.

I'll be the demon that devours your soul.
Payback for the time you stole.
You will suffer, you will suffer.
Inside your home I will wait and lie,
And steal your soul after I watch you die.

You'll know it was me all along,
The siren singing the lullaby song,
In your dreams, in your dreams.
But now that you are mine, and dead,
You see I am a nightmare inside your head.

There will be no farewell,
For soon I will see you in Hell.
