Don't Fear Death

Don't Fear Death

A Poem by Mariah Lynn Thompson

"
There is comfort in death
That outweighs the fear
It's knowing there is something beyond
Beyond here
Beyond pain
Beyond suffering
Beyond

The never-ending years and years
There is no time there
In that other place
No time to think
No time to pace
No time to worry
No time to be late
No time for sorry
No time for hate

There is comfort in death
The all-encompassing end
Whether it be darkness or light
Whatever you believe, my friend

What you are saying is partly true, to me, and everybody is entitled to their own opinion. However, I think of death as rather bland. Your soul is sitting in either a golden chair above the clouds, or a brewing cauldron in a boiling place where the sun never shines and the birds never tweet. Purgatory sounds boring to be honest. You are nowhere good nor bad, and you lie there curiously, anxiously, wondering if you are going to the boiling pit or the golden chair. It would be like mental torture, if souls had a brain, (Haha), while your body is sitting in a mundane, wooden coffin beneath the ground, waiting for the end of the world to strike so you can come out and murder the alive, make them come like you, if what they say is true, but I think it is nothing much. Life for the starter, then death as your main course. Terrible. Eternally, f*****g around, just wanting to do something interesting, while you burn in your pit, or miss how life was on Earth while you relax on your never-ending holiday. The afterlife is worrying for some, and I can see why. The words you use makes this poem what it is. A masterpiece, a wonderful masterpiece, truly, I am not a person who lies, and in full honesty, I think you should keep going...
