Now Look At What You've Done

Now Look At What You've Done

A Poem by Mariah Lynn Thompson

I'm down to my last few breaths
Trying my best to tell you everything I thought you needed to hear
I've been dying, lying in this bed
For months from this sickness I call heartbreak
What a mistake
I feel the grim reaper standing over me
As you stand there over my death bed trying to say "I'm sorry"
But baby, sorry will not cut it this time

Now look at what you've done
You've made such a mess of my life, once again
But I think you've done it this time
You've committed the perfect crime
You have sinned,
And now you're saying sorry once again

What's done is done
This time I think I've won;
And the guilt will kill you slowly in your sleep
I'll be there in your dreams, stabbing you in the darkness;
Making you feel the pain that I've felt too many times
This is heartbreak, what a mistake
This is heartbreak, you're a mistake

Now look at what you've done
You've made such a mess of my life, once again
But I think you've done it this time
You've committed the perfect crime
You have sinned,
And now you're saying sorry once again

But sorry will not cut it this time
No, sorry will not cut it this time
