Heart Song

Heart Song

A Poem by rhythm&blues

When the heart overflows its pain
healing  begins as a prayer,
like the bird freed from its cage
able to chirp a sweet love song

I really do love this sense of lifting music to make the heart soar above its pain.. its suffering cries. There is always hope to be found if we let it flow. Thank you for this.

Sadness flies on the wings of the morning and out of the heart of darkness comes the light. ~ Jean Giraudoux

we sometimes want to hide ourselves away form pain and other feelings and situations that are disquieting; but we can't ... accepting and allowing emotional pain to flow is truly the beginning .. your poem inspires me to think about it a bit and i think you are right about the prayer ... at that moment it is almost automatic isn't it?! i like the brevity (seems to be your style) and the meditative quality to it ... its the way you put the words together ... almost like a senryu as it is about humans vs. nature ;) hope all is well with you ... it has been a while since you have been around

the heart is the toughest muscle in the human body...too bad it is where we center our emotions.....i sense there is another center to our feelings....a more fragile and complicated one....the brain? oh, hell no! unless we are all just brainless......well penned!

I like this one. Kind of like a moment of Zen American style

True words can be so effective and stir such positive emotion. Your right, the first thing we do when hurt is absolute is pray. Beautiful analogy and connections.

This short piece has a hopeful feel, the knowledge that healing comes. I like the idea of "healing beginning as a prayer". Sometimes that is all we need to feel that we have indeed begun to heal. Good job.

When the heart is pained, healing begins as a prayer...I love this idea. It is so true; in the darkest of hours, hope begins as the flicker of a candle and then as we get farther it becomes as bright as the sunlight. well done.
