A bad dreamA Poem by Rhys MarchantIs a darker set poem. About a man having a bad dream. Cant give to much away.Wake
up, wake up It’s
all but a bad dream Wake
up! He
awakes- Shooting up with a hard breath and heavy panting, He
is gasping for air. But
no one’s there. He finds a gasp. And
shaking at dark he finally finds the light, Switch.
He turns it on. The
shadows stay still. Until
the switch is switched again, But the shakes remain. although he is safe in light, as he thought. A storm has began to brew. He better get his coat, For strong winds are coming very soon. But he is safe. After all it was just a bad dream, So he thought. He thinks Fidgeting
around for his specs, A
way to calm his nervous is a cup of tea. Although the storm is brewing, The tea is done. So
he drinks and the shakes stop. All
is calm, he thought So
back to bed he heads. Glasses
off and switch switched. And
the shadows freed. all in all it
was just a bad dream, So
he thought. But
now the storm has arrived, And
he can’t wake up no more. © 2012 Rhys Marchant |
