A series of poems I wrote for class

A Poem by Clemency Borgeau
"

I think it's some Japanese form like Haiku, but it's 5-7-5-7-7. yes. three separate poems.

"

Nothing is as sad

as walking under the great

sunshine yellow, home

in the placid blue sky, and

realizing you’re all alone.

Flowers do nothing

wrong. They merely sit and feel

beautiful, gazing

sadly at the trifles

of the silly human race.

Your cherry mouth and

starburst cheeks and how you cry

make your eyelashes look so

pretty; now I’m cracked like a

book and you’re trembling like a string.

Hi these are tanka poems, the longer precursor to the haiku, most famously practised by Ishikawa Takuboku.
