Shy

Shy of everyone

Eyelids almost closed

People nudging

'Go, its just a dance'

The normal Indian wedding

Everyone around dancing

Aunts and uncles doing crazy steps

Feeling weird, feeling conscious

Why do they watch like that?

Mom calling me to the floor

One step, then another

I reach. I just start swaying

Hands rise up, beats filling within me

More girls join in, it becomes like a show

Consciousness lifted up

More songs, more fun

And people saying, 'You rocked out there!'

Another shy smile, and I start again

Author's Note

Just some thoughts I had on the dancing part of my Aunt's wedding. I was always a shy dancer, although I do dance well once I'm not conscious. This was what I thought will happen, but it actually turned out well!

Awww i really adore this one! I loved to dance when i was younger and i was definately not shy at all. ha ha. xD but now I am. lol.. I'm very shy when people look at me when im doing something. It makes me nervous. But this is such a fantastic piece! I love it! It's so carefree and just feeling free. To me, dancing is like that. It just frees your whole body and soul! Nice job! Keep it up!
