Sleeping Under SnowflakesA Poem by AehrSleeping
under snowflakes, white Watching
migrating birds take flight Trying to
get over that never ending fight, Of me with
myself " nothing’s alright Now my hair
is damp with the dew of spring Just
watching the little chirpy birds sing And
reassuring myself about almost everything Swallowing
my bitter tears back in Now that
summer’s here, so is that feeling Watching the
open wound, almost healing Trying to
understand the heart with which I’m dealing My own one,
the broken one that I’m now seeing And now, I’m
walking in the down the lane Feelings wet
in the puddles of rain Trying to
avoid and forget the stinging pain Trying to
understand myself, how insane Autumn’s
here now, and so are the golden leaves Looking for
myself amongst the maple trees Lost with
the fragrance on the swirling breeze Drowning
into the colours with ease Sleeping
under snowflakes, the cloudy sky And now I
just can’t help but cry Watching the
migrating birds fly I lost the
real me, living in a lie © 2013 AehrAuthor's Note
