Like A Supernova

Like A Supernova

A Poem by Aehr

He was like a supernova,

When his end was near

He held me by my arm

And whispered in my ear:

‘I know my time has come

Any moment, I shall leave

But please be strong my dear

For me, don’t you ever grieve

For I am going to a place

Far beyond your eyes can see

That’s what’s written in my fate

My dear, that’s destiny’

Philosophies explain the importance

And the significance of death,

The value of every second

The price of every breath

And he was like a supernova

Exploding, taking the fall

Whispering me a message,

Crumbling, loosing it all

Author's Note

Aehr
Note = I’ve written this for my Grandpa. I don’t know, we weren’t all that close, and none of this ever happened, but I think we would’ve gotten along. All I know is that when he was breathing his last, he took my Grandma’s name as well as mine. He loved me a lot, and I did to. I miss him.

This was a very nice piece for your grandfather. Death is apart of life and something we all will face one day. With that being said the poem didn't grip me and pull me in. I was a little put off with the rhyming lines and the ones in between. It disrupted the flow of the poem for me. I think you should either try to stick with the rhyme or not at all. I think with a little time you can develop this into a better piece.

its a beautiful peace to remember him by, quite lovely. They flow is endless, finished as it was i was expecting more due to how liquid the read was. Very well done. I am sorry about your loose. Death is just the beginning of a new life :)
