Goodbye Forever

I'm done with the sadness

The 'thinking-about-you'

No more grey clouds

Just the plain old blue

I'm putting away all the tears

I've wasted, back in my pocket

I'm throwing all your gifts away

Never really liked that green locket

Goodbye forever, you mindless fool

I don't like you any more

Because the only good thing you ever did

Was walking out that door

You're an egocentric show off

Do you think that I'm a fool?

You're liberated: Go have fun

With the girl over whom you drool

You know what you've really been?

The concept for many a rhyme

I sincerely thank you for that

Writing them, I had a good time

But otherwise, you can go kick yourself

You deserve a slap or two

You don't deserve someone like me

My life's awesome without you

So goodbye forever, you mindless fool

I don't like you any more

Because the only good thing you ever did

Was walking out that door

Sometime we need the goodbye. People won't change. Better to escape and keep your pride and your strength. I like the flow of the story of the poem leading to a positive ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
