The Forgotten Smile

We've been through things that blew our heads

The horrid things, never meant to be said

But today I saw the forgotten smile

Playing on your lips after a long, long while

I don't know what was on your mind

you thought that being with me was a grind

My own head was twirling round and round

I was flying, then crash landed on the ground

I hate you and you hate me 

We both know that it can never be

But I looked, you looked, and we both smiled

The long lost, old ones I hadn't seen in a while

I told you that we can still be friends

But you're like 'No. This is the end'

I'm all okay, but I've lost a peer

And you've decided to never come near

I don't know what happened, for a moment in time

We forgot all the hate, and left it behind

And today I saw the forgotten smile
