Alone On Valentine's

Not real feelings. I'm single and happy. Just another wandering thought.... :D

February sun shining up in the sky

There are hearts in the clouds, and yes I know why

It's 14th today, long awaited Valentine's

Thee day of 'I'm your's, and you are mine'

People making plans, dates on the beaches

Some Romeo's and Juliet's with their own prolix speeches

Smiling faces here and there, as they go for a tryst

But in this life of mine, there's not one twist

Roses, teddies and chocolates all around

Talking about the day, when true love, they found

While I sit with a book in a corner somewhere

They all make promises of true love and care

While the whole world is coloured, I'm still on grey-scale

Oh, my boring, sorrowful tale!

The world's having fun, and I'm alone inside

Watching the others dance in the moonlight

February moon in the sky, so clear

The stars are up too, and the end is near

The end of the day when I always sit and whine

The day of 'I'm yours, and you are mine'

Beautiful flowing write, sad ! Valentine has become a cliche, yet it is about love, not only for lovers and love should be celebrated always.

I agree with dhaye, true love is not something to be celebrated on just one day. But then, what would I know about it?

I am touched by your work, for sometime in my life I became alone, not celebrating the day but hating it for its coming. But love is not a feeling to be celebrated only on the 14th of February. When I found my true love, it's a Heart's Day everyday.
