Dancing SpiritA Poem by AehrYour arms spread out wide Your sad, expressionless face Your ghostly graceful body Of happiness, not one trace I see you dancing on the moonlit beach Your haunted, lonesome dance Inhabitants always spin up stories To see you, whenever they get a chance They say you drowned in the sea one night Your lover left you dead And you wait every night for him to come That's what the locals said Your hair a rippling cascade You dance till the crack of dawn And before any fishermen can come by The locals say you're gone I hide behind a boulder To see you dance your way I silently wish and pray for Your lover to come for you someday
