14th April 2012: That WeekendA Chapter by Aehr14th April, 2012 Hi Iris! Typical Sunday. Boring. Lazy. And full of homework… Did I say boring? Hope’s back from her sleepover. She really did enjoy with Becky. Jacob called. “Hey Des” he said. I could literally imagine his smile. “Hey” I replied. “So, what’re you doing?” “Nothing… just bored” “Okay. Hey guess what? Quail found out.” He didn’t need to say another word. I felt like jumping! “That’s amazing! Fist punch for her!” “I know. Just wanted to tell you.” “Thanks” “Anytime. Now tell me, you really bored?” I thought for a moment. “Yeah” “Then meet me downstairs in five minutes.” I looked out of the window. “Okay, but where are we going?” “Just a walk in the park” I imagined him shrug. I was sure Mom would allow that. “Okay. See you.” And I hung up. I opened my wardrobe, excited. I had told Mom that I was going for a walk with Jacob. Mom didn’t mind, because she knew Jacob as well as I did. Jacob’s Mom was a friend of my Mom. I wore a white little-more-than-the-knee length frilly (with not many frills) skirt and a light blue top. My hair was up in a ponytail, and in five minutes, Jacob was there downstairs, as he promised. I think I should have told you this before, but Jacob lives only a few lanes away from my place. “Never late!” I laughed as I saw him. “I guess” he replied. “Shall we?” Laughter. The park was not much crowded. Only a few kids walking their dogs and two or three families by the lake. Couples were very few, but we were not In their category. We’re best friends, right? We kept walking and chatting and walking and chatting till we were tired and found a bench to sit on. And I asked Jacob the question I wanted to ask him since quite a long time. “Jacob, many people hate me you know.” Okay, that’s the weirdest way to start a conversation, but that’s me! “And well… sometimes I wonder, what do you like about me?” It was quite a relief to finally ask him that. He laughed. And laughed. And laughed and laughed and laughed. “What?” I asked with a slight frown on my forehead. “Nothing. Destiny, I can’t name anything I like about you. And that’s only because, I like you, not any ‘thing’ about you. We all have flaws. I do too, and so do you. But even though you’re not flawless, you’re perfect” The eye contact built up again. I smiled, blushed, and looked away. Jacob is honestly the best guy for me. “That’s something only you see. SOME people never saw that in me” Stress on the word ‘some’. So, that
‘some’ one was none other than I was
TOTALLY for him, and that was what made it worse. He was my first crush, but
then became a bit more than that. And, I took it way too seriously. Iris, I
actually used to cry because of him, and blame myself for not being good enough
for him. But at that time, Jacob was my best friend. He was the guy who was
there for me, every time I cried. And you know what, Iris? He was the guy who
gave me the courage to move on. And really, I did.
Conclusion: Jacob’s awesome, and At that
moment, Jacob knew I was talking about “Don’t talk about it, Destiny. “I know. I don’t care, and I hate him” I replied, coldly. Silence. More Silence. Unbearable Silence. “It’s okay Jacob, it’s a waste talking about him.” I said, and sighed as I got up. “Where are you going?” He got up too. “Home. It’s 5:00 pm already. I promised Hope that I’ll explain her a chapter. I need to reach home by 5:15.” “I’ll walk you home.” We walked home, talking all the way. I tried to make an attempt to ask him about his hobby. “So Jacob, why have you left the football team?” I said, casually. “I told you. I’ve found something better.” He replied, just as casually. “And what is that?” “You’ll find out soon enough” “That’s stupid. You have a secret hobby you’re not telling me about now, even though I’m going to find out soon. So what’ll be the difference if I find out now?” “You’ll see… See you tomorrow, princess” And another smile. We were right before my home now. I had no option. “Yea, bye” So I
explained that Science chapter to Hope, about photosynthesis and all, and she
pretty much got it. Mom and I read so many jokes online today, we laughed our
heads off. Hope didn’t get most of them, but she was more interested in playing
with I texted Claire today. Destiny: Had an awsum evening in d park with Jacob. Where r u @? Claire: At home, gurl. Gr8 4 ya. Kristy ‘n d b*****s havin a tough tym, they found out J Destiny: Ikr? for the time when we were talking about Forever and Always Destiny
