My Fairy Tale

My Fairy Tale

A Poem by Aehr

When I think of Repunzel
I think about her hair
And that beautiful bond
She and her tresses share

When I think of Cinderella
I think about her shoe
How it lead to Prince Charming
How they found their love, so true

When I think of Snow White
I think about her face
She's the most beautiful maiden
No doubt, in any case

When I think of Belle
I think about her heart
How she turned a beast back into human
How their romance made a start

When I think of fairy tales
I think of their story-line
Happy endings, and perfect timing
So much unlike mine

My life is a fairy tale
Bittersweet, with many flaws
But I love it, yet I know
It doesn't follow fairy tale laws

Wow, just wow! This poem right here is so relatable and I absolutely love it! I love the description of the princesses and their stories for finding their love in each stanza. I really like the moral behind "Beauty and the Beast", because she fell in love with him even though he was a beast. That's true love, loving someone for their heart instead of their appearance. I wish most people understood that. Good job, most definitely! :)

"My life is a fairy tale
Bittersweet, with many flaws
But I love it, yet I know
It doesn't follow fairy tale laws" That stanza was an absolute perfect way to end this beautiful poem. Some people end a poem in a rather odd way, but you done it in such a majestic way. :)

Fairy tales~ As much as we love them, they always send our hopes crashing down... Beautifully written!

yes, they do...
Sigh... fairy-tales are torture, I tell you. They get our hopes up so much, but when we get out into the real world, we learn how much they lie. I love how you call your story a fairy-tale, one breaking all the rules. The quiet rebellion in those lines was awesome.

Psst.... you've got a typo on the first line - it's Rapunzel. And by the way, did you see the Dsiney movie on her? It was sooooo cute! :)

Real life fairy tales can have a good ending. But hard to do. I like the story and the description in the poem. A strong ending to a excellent poem.

Fairy tales have there place .. they take us away ........ and we dream of lovely things ..

Life never imitates fairy tales .. Maybe when we r old, it will all blend together, perfectly ....
