Last Wishes

Yesterday they were talking about last wishes

They said they are made when you’re dying

Even though I know I have a lot of time

I really didn’t mind trying

 

My first wish would be for my Mom

I just hope God keeps her fine

Let her live to the fullest, and enjoy her life

Make her life merrier than mine

 

My second wish would be for the rest of my kin

I hope they all have a joyful life

I just want them to be happy, and have a lot of fun

May they work, and play, and strife

 

My third wish would be for my partner

I hope he lives long, and he never has to weep

And all our beautiful memories

Safe and sound, he’ll keep

This had a beautiful, almost innocent sweetness to it that i absolutely loved. I mean when it comes down to it, isn't that what we all want most? The people who love us to be happy. The poem flowed really well and i adored the repetition of the first and last stanza's. Very lovely.
