A Poem by G?

We two, amongst the swaying grass
Unsounded and restless, the old and the young
Lions, like father and son
Scarred not broken, not beaten
Time tells though that the old will succumb to the new
My lion son, how I do love you
Knowing someday, perhaps this
My reign will end, I'll quit with your eternal kiss
A battle fought well to be sure
Your crown will be earned, lest it lacks virtue
Scarred and bloodied, you make your way down the hill
Pride brought you to my doorstep
The pride brought you home
Victorious, a leader, you shake your hoary mane
Dispatching the king, encultured to rule
Like father and son, a day will come
When your eyes follow as mine have today
When you also lose your regal will
And succumb to the enevitability of the end of a reign
