The Darkman's SanctuaryA Poem by G?
As darkness settles, within and without
The mind wanders, Something within me shouts React, don't relent No wrong done, needless to repent I awake from this state and realize Not MY soul, for the reaper was sent No, not I, but someone close Calling, the calling, as darkness falls Falls in our houses, in our hearts, darkness calls Outwardly benevolent Camouflaged reticence In your soul, darkness calls Heed it, ignore it You can be sure Darkness doesn't seek souls that are pure Posture and pretense can't hide your crimes The scythe cuts through your lies The scythe cuts through your eyes The eyes that ignored The eyes that didn't care The eyes when needed where never there No, the darkman has no need to justify Whether a head, a soul, or simply an eye The scythe will find its mark Temporal are we, worse still we lie Justified by by self image The scythe will find its mark When life's last breath escapes your corporeal shell Remember I warned you of the man in dark He's coming for you, me as well Be prepared for the moment Time stops for your mortal shell In that moment, your disdain for Dante You slowly slip sanguinely sub-surface Into the darkman's eternal sanctuary © 2016 G? |
