Ode to NietzscheA Poem by G?Like herds of cattle The Ordinary Man grazes around us From our lofty vantage We survey our kingdom Preoccupied with the task Ordinary Man never stops to ask But we of rational mind Put Ordinary Man to the most extreme of tasks Herd mentality denigrates when it should sublimate Ordinary Man can’t differentiate The notion of human nature bad or intrinsically good Cast aside preservational motivation Warp and weft Ordinary Man follows his nature But what of us? Those of philosophical inclination? We cast our skeptical gaze On the pastures where Ordinary Man grazes Pragmatism evokes sympathy Pedagogical inclination Questions of giving and gifted Shouldn’t the observer consider Advantage is merely two letters distant From vantage? © 2016 G? |
