The Man in the mirror

The Man in the mirror

A Poem by G?

who are you?

the mirror image informs my existence

but could the mirror lie?

the shadows grasp at truth

figments of an imaginary being

the hollow soul

encapsulates the sentential

but truth?

eludes my mind

I aspire to palm trees and blue waters

but flounder amongst steel and sewer

who are you?

Who am I?

identity is foresworn

in a mind so torn

you say “I love you”

I say “Wait”

it’s a fine line

between love and hate

when you next see the man

gazing back at you from the mirror

invite him in

embrace his invitation

remember the fine line

that separates me from me
